CEC South High School students visited the Cincinnati Union Terminal and explored two of its museums: the Cincinnati History Museum and the Natural History & Science Museum. They were captivated by the vast amount of history and knowledge on display! 🏛️🚀
Their first stop was the Natural History & Science Museum, which featured marvelous casts of prehistoric life, a Paleontology Lab, and a DNA Lab with viewing windows. They also saw sea creatures, fossils, a replicated cave, a Neil Armstrong Space Exploration Gallery with interactive learning devices and games, and an Ice Age display with animal models.
After lunch, they visited the Cincinnati History Museum, which began with displays of historic buildings and old life-sized transportation. The museum also included an interactive news broadcasting display, historic filming devices, a replica business district featuring actual Cincinnati businesses, a model boat to explore, and other Cincinnati history, including the origins of Star Wars figures.





Connect Clermont hosted the Content Creators Conference at UC Clermont on Friday, March 6. Presentations encompassed a variety of creative subjects, such as audio/video production, digital storytelling, public relations, and internship opportunities. Attendees demonstrated enthusiasm and gained significant knowledge during the workshops. 🎥🎨

Keynote speaker, Evan Millward, informed students about recognition opportunities and awards through the Ohio Valley Emmy Chapter and publishing. The team "Grella," made up of Ella Sander and Gracie Adams, shared their social media internship experiences – Ella at a PR firm in Germany and Gracie with the Cincinnati Bengals – highlighting the potential for student achievement. Dave McMurray, Executive Producer at Drive Media House, elaborated on the video production process, from inception to publication. UC Clermont's Digital Media Production Professor, Andy Curran, discussed storytelling techniques and led an engaging, interactive exercise for the students.

CEC South's February Open House was a resounding success! Students and parents had a fantastic time participating in games, crafts, and activities held in the gym. The event showcased student projects and experiments, highlighting their achievements throughout the school year. It was a wonderful opportunity for the community to celebrate student learning and engagement. 🌱✨















Each week, students from Clermont County join Bob Pautke on Google Meet for their Content Creators meeting. During this meeting, they shared their preferred content creator mediums, including cartoon drawings, video production, and writing. Creating content is more than just followers; its a form of self expression!




Clermont County schools recently convened for a valuable Curriculum Connection event, providing a platform for educators to engage in collaborative discussions focused on enhancing instructional strategies and assessment practices. Mark Slagle, Technology Director at Goshen Local Schools, presented on strategies for establishing value added target scores through percentile to scaled score conversions. Renee Munro from Batavia shared insights regarding the benefits of eduCLIMBER and its role in supporting educators. This team is committed to assisting educators in the classroom and K-12 education.



In a collaborative effort between the courts and schools, 36 administrators from various districts met with attorneys and judges to discuss Ohio's new truancy laws and address key questions, including, how to best support families, as highlighted by Judge Shriver. Attorney Jeremy Neff, from Ennis Britton, addressed the changes to the law and how to distinguish disability related absences from truancy.



Every month representatives from Clermont school districts gather together at the Clermont County Work-based Learning Team meeting to discuss expanding work-based learning (WBL) opportunities. The team focuses on providing students with meaningful activities to prepare students for life after high school. They are exploring opportunities and events for students with plans to offer experiences in IT, soft skills, and content creation.
