Class Acts: The Excellence in Education Award Ceremony

The Clermont County Educational Service Center hosted the second annual “Celebration of Excellence in Education Awards” on April 21st at the Norlyn Manor in Batavia. Over two hundred attendees were present for the event honoring teachers, support staff, and students from the nine public school districts in Clermont County, two career centers, the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and the Clermont County Educational Service Center. The theme for the event was “Clermont County–Our foundation is strong and our future is bright”.

Clermont County is served by 9 high performing public school districts, 2 vocational schools, a County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and an Educational Service Center. These schools also serve as the hub and heart of their communities filled with activities that help communities thrive. The teachers and staff of these schools serve as the strong foundation for students, families, communities, and the nation's future. Clermont schools and staff are preparing students for the workforce in creative and innovative ways.

Scholars Excelling in the Classroom

After students received their Franklin B. Walter scholar award, they were then interviewed and asked, "What does being honored tonight mean to you?" Students responded with appreciation for their hard work being recognized. These students were selected based upon GPA, class rank, course rigor, extracurricular activities, and community service.
