Teachers are always searching for fun and effective ways to manage behavior in their classroom. Classrooms in the district I work in are finding success with a free program called Class Dojo. Class Dojo offers teachers a quick, easy, and fun way to improve student behavior. After creating their class list, teachers can award students points for displaying specific behaviors and accomplishments. The target behaviors and accomplishments can be easily customized to match the teacher’s expectations. Students’ points can be displayed on a SmartBoard or computer in the classroom. The teacher can instantly add student points via the computer, ipad, or a smartphone!
Parents can also download the Class Dojo app and receive reports about their student’s behavior. The program also creates graphs of student behavior data that may be useful to teachers, counselors, school psychologists, and principals.
