Clermont Educational Collaborative- North (CEC-N)
CEC-N currently operates the Social Communication Program, Gateway Program, and the MDMI Program. CEC-N staff and school were the recipient of the 2012 Faces of Autism Award given by the Autism Society.
Students from K- 12 attend CEC-North. In addition to academic standards there are basic program components that provide the framework for the instructional design of the classroom. Those components could include: communication; independence; social skills; life skills; vocational skills; and transitioning. Services are delivered in a highly structured, visually organized learning environment.
Each classroom at CEC-N is staffed with a teacher and supporting paraprofessionals. Class sizes are kept at 6 students or fewer. Teachers connect their instruction to the Ohio academic content standards. Related services are provided to students based on need and can include speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and/or adaptive physical education.
